Positive Mindedness, Principle Centredness and Possibility Mentality

'7PS' OF PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE
This is a continuation of our discourse on the '7Ps' of purpose driven living. In one of our previous posts (Becoming a Purpose Driven Achiever), we saw the first P as 'Purpose Driven'. Follow on as we take a look at the other Ps. Welcome on board.

1.     POSITIVE MINDEDNESS
According to Bill Newman, “The positive mind has extra problem solving power”
.  Do you wonder why you need this? Because, the road to enduring success is not smooth; it is lined with both the good and the bad. Only the positively minded can grab advantages in the midst of disadvantages. It is the factor that keeps you optimistic in your journey to greatness. You need this “extra problem solving power” to keep you going even when the going is tough. Having the positive mind entails having the right attitude, the right perspective and the right behaviour to situations, and people. Be positive, think positively and speak positively, for ‘as a man thinks (and speaks), so he is’

2.     PRINCIPLE CENTEREDNESS
If becoming a great achiever is your priority, you must have principles guiding your life. Principles here mean you have a set of rules, values, and standards guiding your life. You know where you are going and have diligently devised your means of getting there. You know what to do and what not to do. In short you have a stand for something positive and you are ready to defend your stand. Principle centeredness has many advantages. One, it helps you set goals and commits you to the pursuit of same. Two, it equips you with a burning desire to follow your goals through to a successful completion. Lastly, it helps you avoid lots of unnecessary distractions as you will have no time for the non-essentials. For, “he, who dances to every tune, will soon be lame on both feet”. And, “he who has no stand for anything will always fall for everything”.

3.     POSSIBILITY MENTALITY
Napoleon Hill said, “Whatever idea your mind can conceive, if you believe it, you will achieve it.” That is the power of possibility mentality. It is having a firm believe that all things are possible. First, believe in yourself. Self-distrust is the architect of failure. And then believe that nothing is impossible. This is the secret of the world’s greatest achievers like Henry Ford who said “I am looking of a lot of men with infinite capacity for not knowing what can’t be done”. What he meant was that he needed men who have possibility mentality, people in whose mind and dictionary, the word ‘impossibility’ cannot be found. Believe you can and you will.
Creativity is a component of possibility mentality…..
